Abstract
Did you ever make pancakes from scratch? If so, you know you’re supposed to use two bowls: one for the dry ingredients and the other for the wet. Assuming you have the right ingredients in both bowls, gradually you pour the wet into the dry while mixing to create a suspension. If you reverse the order of pouring, the batter will be a mess, the pancakes won’t rise on the griddle and your family will hold you in derision. We know from bitter experience.
