Abstract
Every five years, each International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Member Body votes in a systematic review whether a standard should be confirmed, revised or withdrawn. This review cycle supports the goal of ISO standards, which is to capture global trends, risks and new technologies and their use to facilitate global collaboration among organizations across national borders. Unless you have been living under a rock, you likely have heard that ISO 9001:2015 is being revised, with an expected release of Fall 2026. Per this revision, the next big thing for quality management systems (QMS) is climate action changes, which were introduced in February 2024 in ISO 9001:2015/ Amd 1:2024—Quality management systems—requirements and will be included in the upcoming revised standard.
