Abstract

Education theorist David Kolb’s learning cycle presents challenges for adult learners, but design of experiments (DoE) can help Kolb’s framework be applied successfully. Integrating DoE with Kolb’s learning cycle creates a powerful framework for systematic knowledge acquisition and performance improvement in team learning and development. The fusion of Lego with Kolb’s learning cycle blends constructionist and experiential learning theories with Lego’s hands-on building system, creating engaging, dynamic learning experiences. Combining Kolb’s learning theory, DoE and Lego toys creates a three-way intersection for a powerful learning experience.
