- Improving processes and systems
- Identifying and meeting customer needs

Quality professionals can have many different roles and responsibilities in an organization, and they come from a variety of backgrounds. However, one commonality is the ability to see an organization holistically, as the sum of moving parts. The methodologies that quality professionals use improve both those individual parts and the organization as a whole.
One of the rewards of working in quality is that you are not limited to a single industry. All types of organizations, from global manufacturing corporations to small service-oriented businesses, from healthcare systems to educational institutions, can benefit from implementing quality approaches, which puts you in demand.
