In a world where every dollar counts, understanding how quality drives—or drains—financial performance is no longer optional. The Cost of Quality (CoQ) methodology offers a clear, data-driven framework to help organizations pinpoint where quality investments pay off and where inefficiencies are hiding. And this isn’t just theory—it’s real-world insight, backed by data and brought to life in the latest ERT by two of the most respected voices in the field:

W. Frazier Pruitt (CQE, CSSBB, CQT, CSSGB), Quality Supervisor - Corning, Inc. – A rising star in quality leadership, Frazier is the Finance Officer for both the ASQ Geographic Communities Council and the ASQ Performance Excellence Committee, a 2021 ASQ 40 under 40 honoree, a former Chair of the ASQ Rochester Section, a driving force in ASQ’s NextGen Global Committee, and coauthor of the upcoming Principles of Quality Cost, 5th edition. In his leadership role with the ASQ Rochester Section, he has been instrumental in launching a new STEM initiative with facilities representing an investment of tens of thousands of dollars, expanding educational opportunities, and strengthening community support. He was also named the 2024 Young Engineer of the Year by the Rochester Engineering Society.

Douglas C. Wood (CQE, CQA, CSSBB, CMQ/OE, CQPA), President - DC Wood Consulting, LLC – A veteran consultant and educator, Doug serves on the ASQ Quality Management Division committee—for which he received the 2023 Howard Jones Award for outstanding long-term service as the Vice Chair of Education from 2015-2021—and is an ASQ ConnEx Instructor, coeditor of the CMQ/OE Handbook, 5th Edition and the upcoming 6th Edition, and the author and editor behind some of the most influential texts in quality cost management, including The Executive Guide to Understanding and Implementing Quality Cost Programs, the Principles of Quality Cost, 4th Edition, and its upcoming 5th edition.

In addition to coauthoring the upcoming 5th edition of Principles of Quality Cost—a must-read for any quality professional—together they’ve helped shape the new CoQ category in the Insights on Excellence Benchmarking Tool.
