Abstract

Quality 5.0 is a product of Industry 5.0 that builds on the technologies of Quality 4.0 and, at the same time, adds new dimensions focused on human-centricity, sustainability, resilience and social responsibility. Quality 5.0 represents a significant shift in quality management, blending advanced technologies with a human-centric and sustainable approach. Successful implementation requires overcoming cultural resistance, integrating new technologies, bridging skill gaps and maintaining a focus on sustainability and ethical practices. It is premature to provide an implementation model to Quality 5.0, but one thing is for certain: The labor force will adapt in skills and the nature of jobs will evolve. Quality 5.0 eventually feeds into the concept of Society 5.0, a Japanese outlook to create a harmonious integration of advanced technology and human needs, driving sustainable development and improving quality of life.
