Abstract

Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is a popular risk assessment and management tool. The detection scale of traditional FMEA tools can be evaluated using the plan-do-check-act cycle to ensure quality remains the primary focus. This process is called design for detection (DfD). By integrating DfD and following a structured approach, organizations can enhance their ability to detect and mitigate risks significantly, leading to improved product quality and reliability.
